Staff
CTH management programmes are designed to offer broad equivalency to the first and second year of a British university degree. As such the scope of training is essentially supervisory and strategic rather than routine skills based. Graduates of CTH management programmes typically aspire to trainee management roles or direct entry to the final stages of a university bachelor’s degree.
Why study CTH Hotel Management Programmes?
Designed to prepare students for careers in hotel management, from small family-run operations to major international hotel groups.
Endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality
The Institute of Hospitality was formed in 1971 and is the only internationally recognised professional management association for managers in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries. CTH Management Programmes have been awarded the Institute of Hospitality Endorsement. All students on CTH Diploma programmes are eligible for Affiliate Membership of the Institute of Hospitality and those who successfully complete the CTH Advanced Diploma programmes are eligible to apply for Associate Membership.
What the Institute of Hospitality Endorsement means
The primary purpose of the Institute of Hospitality is to promote the highest professional standards of management and education in the international hospitality, leisure and tourism industries.
The Institute of Hospitality endorsement provides assurance and confidence that products and programmes:
Encourage the highest professional standards within the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries.
Maintain and develop the quality of education and training available for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development. Encourage and facilitate routes into the Institute of Hospitality for all those working and studying within the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries. Promote international recognition of learning and continuing professional development.
CTH Pathways
Opening the way to careers
CTH syllabi are carefully developed and updated on a regular basis in consultation with industry professionals to ensure their relevance to the actual career environment. For example, in the case of the tourism and travel agency management programmes, the fares and ticketing components have been developed in conjunction with Virgin Atlantic Airways and the Star Alliance network of airlines.
Furthermore, all CTH Management Programmes have undergone a process of formal submission to the Institute of Hospitality, leading to their endorsement as fulfiling the training requirements for the Institute of Hospitality Affiliate/ Associate Membership. Over the years, students who have completed CTH Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes have progressed to successful careers in a wide range of roles within the hospitality and tourism industries.
Opening the way to university
CTH Management Programmes are widely recognised by universities as offering equivalency to degree level study and CTH Diploma students may therefore gain direct entry onto the second year of a variety of hospitality and tourism degree programmes. Similarly, CTH Advanced Diploma students may enter onto a degree at final year level. CTH graduates have access to a range of universities which specialise in tourism or hospitality, both in the UK and overseas. Some of these are shown below but visit our website at www.cthawards.com for the complete list:
